Abstract I (2009)
Abstract I is a 60-minute performance created for Bethlehem’s public library, a threshold between the two main festival grounds. Drawn to its architecture and its role as a place of passage, I envision it as a space for silence. Performed without sound, the work offers a quiet counterpoint to the festival’s intensity—an “island of contemplation” where stillness and attention can unfold. Over the course of the festival, it is performed nine times.
